We must not allow any ulterior purpose

Divine Words of His Divine Grace
Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhar deva Goswami

We must not allow any ulterior purpose or temptation to induce us to give up our search for Sri Krsna. Let the satisfaction of Guru, Gouranga, Krsna, and the Vaishnavas be our only objective.
Our purity of purpose must always be very scrupulously maintained. We should think, “Alone I shall go on with my duty. I won’t be always searching for someone to come and help me. Let them do their duty. This is my duty.”
We should be conscious that hindrances and obstacles are almost sure to attack us, but we must deal with them with humility and forbearance. So this life is not a life of comfort.
Whatever you do not know about yourself, Krishna knows. What is underground in the innermost subconscious region of your heart, He can also see. If you remember this as you move and live, you cannot but be purified.
At every step towards Him, one feels wonder. We find no end to that feeling. Krishna is infinite; He is the wonderful wonder of wonders.
Though we see many around us falling or retreating, we must go forward.
Prorgress means eliminating one thing and accepting another.
God works wonders. His ways are filled with miracles. We should be prepared for that. We should be prepared that all the knowledge of this world, all our experience, will prove to be wrong.
It is a defect to want to understand everything about divinity. Knowledge may be a qualification here in this world, but in relation to the transcendental truth of the highest order, the tendency to want to know everything is a disqualification.

Truth is above all

Truth is above all. And that should be ideal of our life, the beck and call, only truth. We should try to live the life of a surrendered soul with our eyes fixed on the goal that is truth. We shall live a life for the truth, and not for any amount of pleasure and comfort which may be proposed from this plane…We must trample down under our feet all the prospects proposed by this mundane world. The truth is the truth and we must aspire to be subservient to the truth and to the high ideal.

Lord Nityananda distributed Lord Gauranga’s name

Day and night Lord Caitanya was intoxicated with the intense desire to taste the sweetness of Sri Radhika’s divine love for Sri Krsna. Sriman Mahaprabhu instructed Lord Nityananda and His associates to go out and profusely distribute the holy names of Lord Krsna. However, Lord Nityananda instead plentifully distributed Lord Gauranga’s name, the most precious fortune available to the living entities, with no impediment at all. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Śrī Śrī Dayita Dās Daśakam

Prayer unto Śrīla Saraswatī Ṭhākur after his manifest Pastimes
by Śrīla Bhakti Rakṣak Śrīdhar Dev-Goswāmī Mahārāj

nīte yasmin niśānte nayana-jala-bharaiḥ
snāta-gātrārvvudānāṁ
uchchair utkrośatāṁ śrī-vṛṣakapi-sutayā-
dhīrayā svīya-goṣṭhīm

maṇīvāvṛtā yena hīnā
yatrāsau tatra śīghraṁ kṛpaṇa-nayana he
nīyatāṁ kiṅkaro ’yam

(1) At the end of the night of Śrī Śrī Vṛṣabhānunandinī, She suddenly took him to Her entourage, withdrawing him from the company of throngs of grief-stricken souls. A great cry of lamentation arose, their bodies were bathed by their tears. When he was thus stolen away, this world was plunged into the deep darkness of one whose eyes have been stolen away (hṛta — stolen away;nayana-maṇi — jewel of the eye — the internal name of Saraswatī Ṭhākur is ‘Nayana-maṇi’).

(Bereft of the vision of my Divine Master,) Oh my sorrowful eyes (dīna-nayana), (or, Oh saviour of the fallen [Dīna-nayana],) wherever that great soul may be, please quickly take this servitor there! (Although he is my Master named ‘Nayana,’ or ‘one who brings us near,’ in his mercy he shows the miserliness of not taking me unto his company.)

yasya śrī-pāda-padmāt pravahati jagati

yasya śrī-pāda-padma-chyuta-madhu satataṁ

(2) From his lotus feet, the nectarean river of divine love flows throughout the universe; his servitors, like bees, maintain their lives drinking the honey that falls from his lotus feet; and the pure devotees in the shelter of the confidential mellows of Vraja revel in the bliss of singing the glories of his lotus feet: Oh Dīna-nayana, wherever that great soul may be, please quickly take this servitor there.

It is Their department

By distributing Mahaprabhu’s message we are not going out to do anything bad but according to our conception we are trying to do the holiest thing. Our purpose is of the holiest type ever possible to conceive, so we must go forward with this program to do good for others, the best for others, and at the same time to get it for ourselves. There can be no engagement more holy than this in the world. It is the holiest engagement and has the blessings of the Lords Nityananda and Sri Gauranga. It is duty to Them. It is Their department. Preaching is the special department of Sri Guaranga and Nityananda Prabhu. Nabadwip Dham is the place of Their blessings. Our prayer to Them is that, absolving us of all offences, They may utilize us. Here in Koladwip, Nabadwip, at the place of forgiveness of all offences, aparadha-bhanjan-pat, we are praying that They may forgive us for all our previous offences and engage us in Their service to spread Krishna consciousness together with Gauranga consciousness.

DIVINE WORDS of Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev Goswami Maharaja

His Divine Grace SRILA BHAKTI RAKSAK SRIDHAR DEVA GOSWAMI MAHARAJ

His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhara Dev Goswami Maharaja is the foremost pure devotee and is the patriarch of the followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

He is an intimate disciple and eternal associate of His Divine Grace Prabhupad Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakura, the founder-acarya of Sri Gaudiya Math who masterminded a spiritual revolution to inundate the world with Krsna consciousness. Noted for his uncanny ability to draw out the inner meaning of the scriptures, Srila B.R.Sridhara Dev Goswami Maharaja once composed a poem describing the ontological positions of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and the line of disciplic succession stemming from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami was so pleased with his poem that he remarked, “Sridhara Maharaja is carrying the conception of Bhaktivinoda Thakura. Now, I am satisfied that although I may go, at least one man will remain behind who can represent my conclusions.”

As he prepared to leave this mortal world, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami expressed his desire to fix his consciousness on the lotus feet of Sri Rupa Manjari. He called his beloved disciple Srila B.R. Sridhara Dev Goswami Maharaja to his bedside and requested him to sing the famous song of Narottama Dasa Thakura, Sri Rupa Manjari Pada. At that time, in what has been described as a ‘mystic transmission, he gave Srila B.R. Sridhara Dev Goswami Maharaja entrance into the eternal entourage of Sri Rupa Manjari. According to Srila B.R.Sridhara Dev Goswami Maharaja’s vision, however, he was posted as the gatekeeper, the guardian of devotion (Bhakti Raksaka), to protect the storehouse of conclusive truths about the full-fledged theistic conception of Sri Krsna, Reality the Beautiful as presented in Srimad-Bhagavatam and preached by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

Telescopic System

Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami MaharajDo not have disgust towards the sadhu, thinking: “O, he’s just a man. Why should we do service to him, why should we do vaisnava-seva? Why is it recommended so much in different places, in different scriptures? It is always said, ‘You are to be dependent on sadhu’; but I want God, Himself! Why will he come between me and God?” Do not think like that. Rather, you can understand the importance of the sadhu by the example of the telescope: in a telescope, there are so many lenses coming between myself and the object of my search, but they help my vision. The guru-parampara, the disciplic succession, is working in this way, like a ‘telescopic system’.

What is the infinite?

Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar MaharajDivine Words of His Divine Grace
Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhar deva Goswami

“We are teeny souls. How much can we accommodate with our faith? How wide and how broad is our faith? What can we catch within our faith? What we are seeking is infinite, and we are very much afraid; “Oh, if I rely on faith, something may go wrong. I may be deceived.” But within our teeny hearts, how much faith can we contain? Only by analogy with the sky or the ocean may we understand anything about the infinite, but what is that in comparison? Nothing.

And what is the infinite? That from which everything is coming, by which everything is maintained, and into which everything is ultimately entering; the all-comprehensive, all-permeating, all-controlling, all-attracting, all-feeling Absolute.

So everything is all right with the infinite and the environment. We have only to correct ourselves, to adjust ourselves. This is the conclusion – ”Try to adjust yourself; everything is all right with the environment. We must leave everything to the Supreme Lord and conduct ourselves accordingly.” That will bring us real peace and progressive realization in spiritual life.”

Loving Search for the Lost Servant

Idea Behind The Sound

Divine Words of Srila B.R. Dev Goswami

Idea Behind The Sound

And where do we start? Through nama, divine sound, it is easy to begin the spiritual quest. The most subtle thing in our experience here is sound. And it is cheap, much easier than dravya, yajna and so many other things which are to be gathered. Sound comes freely and without any expense. So our research can begin with sound, but that sound must be of divine characteristic.

Just as the medicine in a homeopathic globule cannot be shown by the outer figure, so also only when sound, the name Krishna comes from the proper person, then Krishna’s will is there within. In other words, Krishna from the mouth of a sadhu and Krishna from the mouth of an ordinary person is not one and the same. Just like the potency of the homeopathic globule depends on the medicine within. The idea behind the sound, from where it comes, whether from Vaikuntha, Goloka, or some particular rasa, to that place the sound will gradually assert itself and take you there. The sound, Vaikuntha nama grahanam, must come from the infinite world, Vaikuntha, not from any mundane origin. So the inner potency is to be discerned and detected. To a certain extent, I am able to give some idea.
