See the light

I am grateful to those who help me in my spiritual understanding in a real sense, in the true sense of the word, not in a formal way. In a real sense, in a real sense, the one who cuts the bonds, who helps to free myself from bondage, who allows me to see the light and helps me to satisfy my thirst for inner understanding or achieving , fullness of life, that is my Guru.

Divine quotes

Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar MaharajOur inner aspiration for rasa, is buried within our hearts which are tied down and sealed. But hearing and chanting the glories of Krishna breaks the seal on the heart and allows it to awaken and open to Krishna, the reservoir of pleasure, ecstasy Himself.

What is bhajana? It is a transaction of the heart, not of any formality. In Krishna devotion, Krishna-bhakti, the only consideration is the dedication of the heart. Krishna wants that, and not any external formality of the civilized or non-civilized world.

In the deepest plane of Reality, the deepest wave of Krsna consciousness is moving, and there so many jiva-souls are dancing. And that dance is the Absolute Dance wherein everything surrenders to Krsna in the mood of Vrndavan.

We may have erected high walls on all sides to protect ourselves so that Krsna consciousness may not enter, but Krsna is a thief, and a thief requires no invitation. No preparation is necessary for His welcome. He will enter for His own interest, and that is our consolation. Our solace is that Krsna is a thief. Maya has erected her high walls on all sides, but nothing is sufficient to stop Krsna consciousness. Krsna is a thief, and stealthily He will enter one day.

The innermost hankering of every living soul is for Beauty, Love, Affection, and Harmony; not for power, knowledge, or anything else. This is the diagnoses of the whole creation in time and space; their common cause is one. There is only one end – many are not necessary – only one, the one, that very one we want, is a relationship of Divine Love with Krsna.

A show of humility has no value; imitation has no value anywhere. Proper humility can only occur when one feels his connection with the autocratic Lord, his Master. Then only can he feel humble.

Faith

Divine Words of His Divine Grace
Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev Goswami Maharaj

Faith should be developed with the help of scriptures and saints. They will help us understand that the spiritual world is real and this world is unreal. At that time, this material world will be night to us, and that will be day.
Presently, the eternal world is darkness to us, and we are awake in this mortal world. What is night to one is day to another. A saint is awake in some matter, and a dacoit [thief] is working in another plane. They are living in two separate worlds. A scientist is living in one world; a rowdy is living in another. One’s day is night to another. The ordinary persons cannot see what Einstein and Newton have seen, and what the ordinary man sees is ignored by a great man. So, we have to awaken our interest in that plane, and ignore the interests of this plane.

God is seeing everything

Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami MaharajSrila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara Deva Gosvami Maharaj

“If you always remember that God is seeing everything you do, you can’t do anything wrong. You won’t be able to venture to do anything offensive to the Lord as long as you remember that through everything, the searching eye, the all-knowing, omniscient eye of the Lord is always watching over you. This remembrance cannot but purify your heart and understanding and the whole of your mental system, and help you to approach Divinity in the right way.

It is not that you can do anything and everything without His knowing; not that you are the master wire-puller of both your own life and of the world; not that you are going to exert your mastery, your influence over the environment in a selfish attempt. Always remember that one big eye is spread over your head seeing everything like the searching light of a strong x-ray. What even you do not know about yourself, He knows. What is underground in the innermost subconscious region of your heart, He can also see.

If you remember this as you move and live, you cannot but be purified. Just as cancer can be removed from the body by a laser ray, the whole disease of material [worldly, self-centered] existence will vanish from our hearts by this purifying influence of the divine rays of light from the holy feet of God.”

Our only solace

Krishna cannot dismiss the guardian very easily, because the guardian has a solid position in the Lord’s relationship. If we enter into the domain of our guardian’s care, our position will be assured. Our only solace is that we are going through His agent. He is so kind and benevolent that He has sent His agent to recruit us, and that is our hope. We must be thankful for that, and not become traitors to His agent. We must be cautious to see that we do not betray His agent, for thereby we betray ourselves..

Light the fire the air will come

His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhar deva Goswami Maharaj

“Svayam asiddhm katham anyann sadhayet” – far bigger than the previous statement is the following-“ Jare dekho tare kaho Krishna upadesa /Amar agnaya guru haiya tara ei desa.”

For those who are Gosthanandi sadhakas ( devotional aspirants who prefer to perform bhajan together with others ), they are oblivious of how much they get benefitted or harmed. Mahaprabhu has assured them by this sermon. In this order of Mahaprabhu they see their own and others real benefit. Even when you have not attained perfection you should still preach the holy name of Krishna. In this very instruction Mahaprabhu has given the right of preaching to the sadhaka (practicing devotee). During the time of Sripada Jajavar Maharaj’s sannyasa Srila Prabhupada has bestowed fearlessness on him by saying – Are you fearful? Why are you fearing? You are going to take shelter of the feet which bestows fearlessness, ’jadvibheti svayam bhayam’. To offer ourselves in the sankirtana yajna of Sriman Mahaprabhu is the only way in which each and everyone can be delivered. The one which we are practicing will cure all of our own diseases along with curing the material disease of the materialistic person. Die to live. The right to live is our birthright and we need to live with all the dignity a life should have. The fire of sankirtan can only revive our soul. ‘Bhashmi bhavanti rajendra mahapataka kotayom’. If you perform real Krishna kirtan then you will have no fear. The need is the fire of spirituality. To benefit oneself and other living entities “Amar agnaya Guru haiya tar ei desh”. The very listener will fan the fire of your sankirtan.

Pure Chit Vilas

Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar MaharajŚrīla Bhakti Rakṣak Śrīdhar Dev-Goswāmī Mahārāj explains the basis of his angle of vision.

My nature is non-interfering, from the beginning. So much so that I am called an ease-lover. I am not aggressive in a preaching mood, but only to know. The knowing aspect, the listening aspect, the aspect of inquisitiveness, predominates within me: to find new light from the scripture, from the words heard from my Guru Mahārāj. Every day, I can see, I can feel, new colour. Everything is infinite. Every word, every letter, is of infinite characteristic. I am internally busy with that in my last days.

Prabhu has written in his letter, “Your Prapanna-jīvanāmṛta and your tapes will enliven, will supply deeper roots, to the international society of devotees. If people come across this book and these tapes, their faith will be more consolidated in that society.” That is his conception, and I also conceive like that. After the departure of a general, there may come a general depression, but these things will help them, will give them similar food.

Everyone is rushing into the jaws of death

Srila Sridhar Maharaj: Everyone is rushing into the jaws of death. This the sum total of the news of this world; it is the only news. Every second everyone is entering the jaws of death. This is the real problem–nothing else. The whole problem, if summarized, will come to this, that every second, every atom here is entering into the jaws of death. This is the great and only danger in the world. So, all other talks are irrelevant to the real problems of life; try to help them from entering into the jaws of death. This is the only problem in the whole world.

Go forth and tell everyone about Krsna. Whatever you do, make them talk about Krsna, Krsna, Krsna. Save yourself, and prepare yourself for the highest goal. Whenever you meet anyone, wherever you meet anyone, only talk of Krsna. All other talks are irrelevant and redundant.

The Greatness of the Vaisnava

Srila Sridhar Maharaj: Every part of a pure Vaisnava – his wrath, his abusing, everything in him- is pure, is good. It cannot but be. Whether his blessing or his curse, through him Krsna is giving something. Nalakuvera and Manigriva were cursed by Rsi Narada to become trees; but that misfortune was managed in such a way that they came to have their birth in Vrindavan, so that when their tree-form would be broken, uprooted by Krsna, they would get the chance to go to Goloka, for their eternal service.

So any connection with a Vaisnava is able to give such an ultimately beneficial result. But that does not mean that we shall deliberately go to offend him! It is not meant like that and we should not take it in that way. To do so will be inconsistent with the meaning; it will be suicidal.

The Lord Himself says, aham bhakta-parardhino asvatantra iva dvija, “I am dependent on My devotees.” This was told by Lord Narayana to Durvasa Muni, in the case of Ambarisa Maharaj. Through affection, the infinitesimal jiva-soul, though by constitution the Lord’s potency, and fully dependent on Him, can conquer or control his Possessor, his Lord.

We find that the law of affection is such. In India, in the family, the mother formally has nothing, she has no property, no right; but she commands reverence and respect, a high respect, and through this, she holds a superior position even to that of the father. The father holds the property; the mother holds no such property, no such right, formal right, but she has ‘social right’,and through it she holds the greatest respect of the children. There is a popular sloka which says that the father is considered ‘higher than the heaven’, and the mother, ‘higher than the land where we stand.’ And it is also said, and we see, that both the mother and the father help to raise the children, but in that the mother’s quota is far greater than that of the father, so her dignity, her superiority, is much greater than his. This is the custom in varnasrama-dharma: the mother has no legal possession, but she has social or moral possession.
